Concept Statement: "A Lost New World"

5D is a kids’ toy collection packaging project that includes five dinosaurs in their respective box set. The idea behind the concept follows the imaginative story of five dinosaurs from planet earth at the brink of extinction. 65 million years ago during the Cretaceous period, large asteroids collided with planet earth and destroyed over 70% of all life on the planet. Among the animals that were trying to escape, five dinosaurs came across a mysterious cave that transported them to a lost new world. Setting their differences aside, the five dinosaurs set out together to explore their new world. To their surprise, they encountered a highly intelligent and civilized society of dinosaurs. The mysterious dinosaurs accepted the new comers and taught them how to speak and use their technology. As time progressed, the five dinosaurs become great friends and the protectors of their new home planet. Together they travel in spaceships exploring the universe. 

The toy collection packaging project was created with a unique fantasy story to appeal to a child’s interest. The graphics on each box were made in accordance to the colour of each dinosaur. The shape of each box was designed to simulate a futuristic spaceship along with the dinosaur’s profile written at the side. Realistic hand-drawn illustrations of each dinosaur were made in order to add personality and enhance the story.
